History of Our Lady of Visitation Nursery/Primary School, Oleh

Our Lady of Visitation Schools, Oleh; in Delta State Nigeria, has a rich history dated back to its founding on September 18, 1995, by Rev. Fr. Bill Power and Managed by the Sisters of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus (EHJ) Congregation from 1995 to 2023. Established as a Catholic institution, the school was created with the vision of providing quality education while instilling strong Catholic values in its students. Initially serving both boys and girls at the nursery and primary levels, the school quickly gained recognition for its commitment to academic excellence and moral development. The curriculum was designed to foster a love of learning, encourage critical thinking, and cultivate a sense of community among students. In 2019, responding to the growing educational needs of the community, Our Lady of Visitation expanded its offerings to include a mixed-gender secondary program. This expansion allowed the school to provide a comprehensive educational experience, equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary for higher education and future careers. Currently, the school is managed by the Missionary Sisters of Jesus Mary Congregation, under Very Rev. Fr. (Dr.) Stephen Oghenovo as the School's board Chairman, who have taken on the responsibility of upholding the founding principles of the institution. Under their guidance, Our Lady of Visitation continues to thrive as a nurturing environment that emphasizes both academic achievement and character formation. The school’s commitment to integrating faith and education remains central to its mission. Through various programs and activities, students are encouraged to develop not only intellectually but also spiritually and socially, preparing them to become responsible and engaged members of society.
